Watson and councillors learned the city will miss out on roughly $1.83 million from a planned ridership increase when the Confederation Line was supposed to open around the middle of the year. The handover from Rideau Transit Group (RTG) to OC Transpo was supposed to happen May 24, but the date has been pushed to Nov. 2.
After a finance and economic development committee meeting, Watson said the missed revenue is one of the costs the city believes should be covered by RTG as part of the $2.1-billion construction contract.
