Overview

Ottawa has coffeeshops in every neighbourhood and practically on every street corner. If you need something sweet, strong, or just a jolt of caffeine, there’s bound to be a brew that’s right for you.

Bridgehead is a quality, fair-trade chain of coffeehouses that’s locally grown, with several convenient locations, mainly in the downtown region. Starbucks, of course, is a popular high-end chain with locations all over the city. Second Cup and Tim Horton’s offer slightly lower prices and also have many branches through Ottawa. For those who eschew the chains, there are also several funky independent coffeeshops to sip your java in, such as Planet Coffee, The Daily Grind and Bluebird Coffee.
